I've always loved to draw and paint. One of my favorite memories about art was winning a poster contest in fifth grade during fire prevention safety month—a challenge sponsored by the local fire department. I drew a simple ladder with a fire detector above it on a ceiling. In big (super cool bubble letters) was "TEST IT!".  It was chosen among the entire Birchwood Elementary school. The award...a ride in a fire truck! Blowing the horn and making the sirens scream will never be forgotten!  

 I still draw and paint in my free time and have explored watercolor and acrylic mediums. I'm into large abstract pieces these days. Here are some recent creations...
